All our new members are welcome to join this workshop to learn about the subtle energies of yoga to empower their practices and to learn about the 9 gates and 5 winds philosophy of Gems Of Yoga and learn the fundamentals of Asanas, Pranayama, food, nutrition and in some cases mantras and yantras. You will also be given the brief about the alignment of breath and movement.

A prenatal yoga workshop to equip expecting moms with yoga tools & pregnancy wisdom to be able to attend regular yoga classes (not just prenatal yoga classes) at their favourite yoga studios.

This workshop also welcomes yoga teachers (male yoga teachers welcome as well!) especially those without prenatal yoga teacher training to have a deeper understanding about how able pregnant women really are so they don’t get nervous when they see glowing pregnant women in their classes (don’t turn them away – they need it the most!).

Studies have shown that practicing yoga throughout pregnancy has many benefits for you and your baby. Some benefits include: reducing anxiety and depression, alleviating pain and discomforts of pregnancy, improving muscle strength and flexibility for child birth, and speeding up postpartum recovery.

In this workshop, we will cover prenatal basics including benefits of yoga during pregnancy and how to keep you and baby safe. We will also guide you through a gentle supportive yoga class with focus on breathing exercises, relaxation, balance, circulation, digestion, and muscle tone for a healthy pregnancy. Each class will be unique, so feel free to sign up more than once!

This workshop is designed for women at any stage of pregnancy and no previous yoga experience is necessary. Prenatal Yoga is considered safe for mommy and baby, but is not recommended for high risk pregnancies (such as those at risk of premature labor). We recommend you consult your doctor before starting prenatal yoga.

Mothers who are 6 weeks postpartum are also welcome to join the workshop with or without their babies (up to crawling). Many of the poses and simple techniques to create more comfort in the body are applicable to the postpartum phase. Mothers who have recently given birth will also learn ways to build their strength back up in order to get back to their regular yoga practice.

Join a community of like minded moms in this safe and supported environment. No experience necessary.


Come discover the healing benefits of yoga. Not only will you gain strength and flexibility, but yoga will also help you to fell less stressed, improve depression and help you feel a sense of control. Classes are taught by a certified yoga instructor and registered nurse and there are numerous props for patients to use to make all poses accessible for all patients. All you need to bring is yourself and wear comfortable clothing.

  • Yoga classes are free and held on the 17th floor of the Gems Of Yoga and Meditation Center.
  • All cancer patients and their family members are welcome to attend and no appointment is necessary.
