chakras

The infinite world of time & space is reflected by the seven psychic crosspoints working as invisible Yantras in the body. Chakras provide inner meditative experience in Kundalini Yoga. Chakras are visualised as lotus or wheels or Chakras strung on the spinal psychic passage in the sushumna in the center of the spinal cord in Sushumna running from perenieum to the brain. Chakras depict the mutual correspondence of the human body and the cosmos. Each chakra is associated with sound Vibration, Element, Color, Devata or Animal Symbol.

The following order should be used for coloring and meditating on the 7 Chakras.

  • The Petals of the Chakras
  • The yantra of the Chakras
  • The animal that carries the seed sound (Bija Mantra)
  • The seed sound
  • The shakti of the Chakras
  • The deity of the Chakras

By creating balance between a thinkers brain (understanding concepts stimulating left side of the brain) and artist’s brain (coloring stimulating right hemisphere of brain) will help to change the pattern of brain waves and by using seed sound and righteous order in life; help us to achieve higher states of consciousness.

Crystal grids

A crystal grid is a number of crystals arranged into a particular geometric form creating a particular energy field.

The simplest crystal grid is a triangle formed of three crystals. When you form a crystal grid, the crystals must be of equal strength and similar size. You can use the triangle form to project emotions with your will, the crystal will amplify your thoughts.

Another popular crystal grid is the star of David. The star of David crystal grid uses six crystals in a pattern so that six of them are placed at the points of a hexagon with terminations points pointed inward. In this form, you have created a large etheric crystal. You can use the star of David crystal grid to move into higher state of consciousness, you can use it for enhancing deep state of meditation, visualization and inter-dimensional journeying (astral projecting, OOBE, remote viewing, consciousness projection), reiki healing.

You can also use this form to balance the male and female energies in the body and open the heart center to do so, assume in the lotus position, sit cross-legged in the star of David crystal grid, hold you hands with the palms and extended fingers flat against each other as if you were saying a prayer. Press firmly against your heart center as they retain the position. This hand position begins to balance the male and female energies. Close your heart and focus your heart center.

Breath in and out with long deep breaths, as do that try to relax and let your mind be all calm. Sing the mantra RA (pronounced RAH) for four seconds, then sing the mantra MA (pronounced as in mom) for four seconds. Creating sacred sound in such a crystal gridwork will enhance the energy of the grid, you will greatly benefit from doing that. When you proceed make sure you have a firm pressure with your hands.

Do this exercise for at least three minutes, when you are accustomed to three minutes, do it for seven minutes, then eleven minutes. You can go as far as half an hour or an hour. For better lasting result you should do this exercise for at least 30 days.

By aligning the crystal into a geometric form, the crystals will form in the center of the form a pillar of light, it is with this energy field that you will work. Beginners should not spend more than fifteen minutes inside a crystal grid. Some advanced people have built crystal grids under their bed, but it is not recommend, if you are new to this, you may not support the energy generated by the pillar of light.

The other gridwork that you can form are Double Star of David with twelve crystals, the Pentagram gridwork with five crystals, the octagon gridwork with eight crystals, the decagon gridwork with teen crystals.

Crystal grids can absorb imbalanced energies and are excellent tool for healing but as always you should clear the crystals before you work with them. Have a good work with your crystals.

Chakras & The Endocrine System

Sahasrara

Sahasrara or the crown chakra is generally considered to be the chakra of consciousness. Its role may be envisioned somewhat similarly to that of the pituitary gland, which secretes hormones to communicate to the rest of the endocrine system and also connects to the central nervous system via the hypothalamus. The thalamus is thought to have a key role in the physical basis of consciousness. Symbolised by a lotus with one thousand petals, it is located on the crown of the head.

Ajna

Ajna (along with Bindu, either or both are considered to correspond to the third eye) is linked to the pineal gland which may inform a model of its envisioning. Ajna is held as the chakra of time, awareness and light. The pineal gland is a light sensitive gland that produces the hormone melatonin which regulates sleep and awakening. Symbolised by a lotus with two petals. (Note: some opine that the pineal and pituitary glands should be exchanged in their relationship to the Crown and Brow chakras, based on the description in Arthur Avalon's book on kundalini called Serpent Power or empirical research.)

Vishuddha

Vishuddha (also Vishuddhi) or the throat chakra may be envisioned as relating to communication and growth, growth being a form of expression. This chakra is paralleled to the thyroid, a gland that is also in the throat and which produces thyroid hormone, responsible for growth and maturation. Symbolised by a lotus with sixteen petals.

Anahata

Anahata or the heart chakra is related to complex emotion, compassion, love, equilibrium and well-being. It is related to the thymus, located in the chest. The thymus is an element of the immune system as well as being part of the endocrine system. It produces T cells responsible for fending off disease and may be adversely affected by stress. Symbolised by a lotus with twelve petals.

Manipura

Manipura or the solar plexus chakra is related to the transition from simple or base to complex emotion, energy, assimilation and digestion, and is held to correspond to the roles played by the pancreas and the outer adrenal glands, the adrenal cortex. These play a valuable role in digestion, the conversion of food matter into energy for the body. Symbolised by a lotus with ten petals.

Swadhistana

Swadhisthana or the sacral chakra is located in the sacrum (hence the name) and is related to baseemotion, sexuality and creativity. This chakra is considered to correspond to the testicles or the ovaries that produce the various sex hormones involved in the reproductive cycle which may cause dramatic mood swings. Symbolized by a lotus with six petals.

Mooladhara

Mooladhara or the base or root chakra is related to instinct, security, survival and also to basic human potentiality. This centre is located in the region between the genitals and the anus. Although no endocrine organ is placed here, it is said to relate to the inner adrenal glands, the adrenal medulla, responsible for the fight and flight response when survival is under threat. In this region is located a muscle that controls ejaculation in the sexual act in the human male. A parallel is charted between the sperm cell and the ovumwhere the genetic code lies coiled and the kundalini. Symbolised by a lotus with four petals. Woodroffe also describes 7 head chakras (including Ajna and Sahasrara) in his other Indian text sources. Lowest to highest they are: Talu/Talana/Lalana, Ajna, Manas, Soma, Brahmarandra, Sri (inside Sahasrara), Sahasrara.

The tree of life can be equivocated to that of the energy body connected by the psychic channels (called nadis in Sanskrit). On top is Ayin -- nothingness -- the unlimited, undifferentiated infinity. On the bottom is Shekinah, differentiated reality, Divine immanence, or Everything. On the very top above the tree of life resides Ayin, which is male, God, and Spirit while at the very bottom below the tree resides Shekinah, which is female, earth, and great abundance. The template is the Uniter, channel, temple, vehicle, and Intermediator,

On top of the tree of life proper is Kether (the crown) which lies directly below Ayin and represents pure divine will. This is the equivalent to Sahasrara chakra.

Next is Hokmah, or the wisdom point, which is the equivalent to ajna chakra. Then Binah (understanding) at the throat center or vishuddi chakra.

The heart chakra (anahat) is a combination of Gevurah or justice (symbolized by the left arm and red in color) and Chessed (love and grace) symbolized by the right arm and the color, white.

The manipura (jewelled center) chakra at the navel corresponds to Tifferet or beauteous splendour which corresponds to the sun in kaballah and the fire element in yoga.

Below Tifferet (splendour) is Yesod which is the generative, seminal, and sexual center which is linked to Tifferet above both directly and through Hod and Netsah.

The root chakra (muladhara in Sanskrit) equates to Malkuth of the Kaballah where the Shekinah can enter. It is said that the secret of fulfilling the mizvot (the epitome of all good deeds) is the mending of all the worlds and drawing forth the emanation from above thus balancing Shekinah with Ayin Soph.

In addition the two cabalistic centers, Hod and Netsah, assist the connection between the lower two chakras (Yesod and Malkuth) and Tifferet. The Kaballah and Zohar is a rich literary source along this vein and this short introductory is by no means complete other than to show a corresponding western tradition which found itself in a patriarchal and sterile morass, but which freed itself through the formation of the idea of balance through honoring the Shekinah.

The ten spiritual centers in Hebrew are called Sephirot instead of chakras and are related to the major arcana of the tarot.

The Seven Microcosmic Chakras of the Neck

A crystal grid is a number of crystals arranged into a particular geometric form creating a particular energy field.

The neck has an "S" shaped curve very similar to the spine and an analogue can be found at each cervical vertebra. This additional chakra practice for the seven vertebra of the neck and as a microcosm for the rest of the spine can be done alone or integrated with the above practices is an excellent 7 step exercise for those with blockages in vishudda chakra, neck, or throat problems.

EARTH -- lam between the 7th and 6th

WATER -- vam between the 6th and 5th

FIRE -- ram between the 5th and 4th

AIR -- yam between the 4th and 3rd

akasha -- ham between the 3rd and 2nd aum between the 2nd and 1st

aum again between 1st and then entering into the talu chakra

note: that sometimes the name of the chakra behind the occiput at the brain stem is called "talu", while in other literature, "talu", refers to the region at the cerebellum.

One can continue to break down the energetic points of the body and give them names and sounds which symbolize their energetic resonance, harmony, activation, and stabilization. Commonly there exist recognition of the chakras at the cupped arches at both feet, at the heels, knees, and both hip joints, the cupped arch at the palms of the hand, the wrists, the elbows, and at both shoulder joints (gleno-humeral joints). In addition many tantric systems recognize at least one chakra below the body belonging to the earth proper and at least in space above the head belonging to the sky region proper. These two follows around the human body where ever it goes as long as it is alive. It is through this body that Shiva's love is communicated to Shakti, and how Shakti's love toward Shiva is expressed in a balanced mutual timeless non-dual synchronicity.

Astral Projection

Astral projection or out of body experience is the art of projecting an important portion of your consciousness into other realities often called astral planes, mental plane. What it takes to do that not much in fact. The intention to achieve an astral projection is important . When you are determined to achieve it, then you are on the right track. Secondly, you must achieve deep physical relaxation, when it’s done a proper technique must be used to shift your consciousness into another reality. These techniques are usually referred as the exit methods.

The biggest obstacles in astral projection are the fear to not be able to comeback, fear that the body will be invaded by negative entities , etc… . Only fear is the biggest barrier.

Anyway, here is an astral projection technique.

Lie down on your bed close your eyes and picture in your mind eyes a field of white light all around you, 360 degree.

Massage your forehead during 30 second.

Stretch your cheeks , massage the back of your neck and around.

When you finish tense your toe , tense your legs one by one continue with your arms .

After this tense your buttock , lower back pressed against your bed. Take a moment to relax . Tense your rib cage follows by pushing your shoulders back. RELAX. Pull your shoulders forward.

Once your are relaxed imagine you have imaginary hands at the place of your real hands picture a rope above you and with your imaginary hands climb, as you do ,you feel sensation in your energy or etheric body this is a good sign. Continue climbing vary your speed have a sense of your etheric body leaving your physical body. If you sense resistance, it’s a good sign , slow down , and continue climbing until you are completely projected. Some authors claim a silver cord must be attached to your etheric body but a certain numbers of astral traveler don’t perceive the silver cord at all. So don’t panic , if you don’t perceive it. If you want to return in your body , just have the intention to do so.

How to get the vibration :

Entering a state of vibration is also important, there is no clear way to do it. So here some instruction, you can try:

Posted by ZenKen on the Grillflame forum

Lay down and relax. Pay attention to the inside of your hands. You are alive right? Imagine what that life feels like in your hands. Make sure you have no tension, your relaxed. Imagine what life feels like. If this is gets you nowhere, pay attention to your body temperature in your hands. How warm is the innermost core of your hands. Just breathe relax and play around with this. You may have better luck with your feet. What you want to eventually feel is a tingle in whatever body parts it is easiest to feel it in. Then you want to work it into the rest of your body. Then just make your awareness of it go deeper and deeper. Another idea is to do jumping up in the air and swing your arms all over the place. Like a crazy dance. Almost exhaust your self. Then lay down and try to feel the tingles. For me thinking of light never worked. I had to think of life energy, which feels like light. The mind is a tricky thing

Other technique by Robert Peterson:

Lay down, close your eyes, and relax completely. Imagine that you are separate from the body, and laying inside the body-shell. Imagine that your physical body is vibrating slowly, and your astral body is vibrating at a faster rate. Pretend you can both hear and feel the vibrations throughout your astral body as if you were standing in front of nine-foot speakers. Next, imagine the vibration of the astral body increases in pitch gradually, getting higher and higher. As the pitch gets higher, the two notes go out of sync and a certain resonance gets stronger and stronger.

Repeat this exercise several times. This simple exercise can actually produce the vibrations which can separate you from your body. It also might help to try to listen intently for any sounds "inside" your head at various points in the exercise.

Tips for successful astral projection:
  • There are 3 forms of projection in the first you can look back and see your body. In the second you will not see the body but be aware of it, and experience some duality. In the third form you will no longer be aware of the body. Your experience will be the most vivid only in this form you can project outside the solar system.
  • Most projections are in the first and second form
  • Attempt a projection when you feel slightly drowsy and examine your your own subjective feelings to get in touch with your astral body.
  • There is no danger of not returning to the body.
  • You can travel to the past, present, future including the probable past, probable present and probable future.
  • Your dreams contain spontaneous projection.Examination of them is beneficial.
  • There is connection between the astral body and physical body:
  • Before a projection take a small amount of starchy or sugar food. A small snack before bed is good.
  • Alcohol in small quantity is of some benefit .
  • Remove all jewelry and metallic objects you may have on you.
